Try it without a cluster

The repository ships a demo server: the real console and API over a synthetic catalog of nine databases and an in-memory cluster. No Kubernetes, databases or S3 are needed.

git clone https://github.com/republic-global/keeper && cd keeper
go run ./hack/demo -addr 127.0.0.1:8090

Open http://127.0.0.1:8090 for the console, or point the CLI at it:

make build
export KEEPER_SERVER=http://127.0.0.1:8090
bin/keeper targets
bin/keeper backups shop/orders-db
bin/keeper diff 20261006T020700Z-bd79 20261007T020700Z-6da5 # IDs from `keeper backups`
bin/keeper changes shop/orders-db --since 3h

The shop/orders-db database has the interesting history: yesterday a column was added to orders and last night coupons was truncated. Restores and backups started from the demo are recorded but never run, because there is no controller behind it.
